Home Owners

Ohio has received $320 million from the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Hardest-Hit Fund to help unemployed and underemployed homeowners avoid foreclosure. The state has implemented a program, Restoring Stability: A Save the Dream Ohio Initiative, to make the funds available to help Ohioans keep their homes.

Beginning today, homeowners can apply for the program online at www.SaveTheDream.Ohio.gov or by calling the Save the Dream Ohio hotline at (888) 404-4674 (7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Due to expected high call volumes, homeowners are encouraged to apply online.

Homeowners who apply will be connected to a specialized HUD-approved housing counselor who will gather additional information and answer questions. Eligible homeowners may receive payment assistance, principal reductions or transition assistance. There is no charge for these services. The Save the Dream Ohio program assistance is free. As always, Ohioans should be watchful for scams; no one affiliated with Save the Dream Ohio’s Restoring Stability program will ever ask for a fee for services.
