It’s meeting time Again (9/1/2012)

August 28, 2012

Our next meeting will be held at Mary’s Church the NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, located at 2088 Tibbetts wick near Sampson Drive. Directions are head towards Youngstown to the lights at Tibbetts Wick turn left go approx. one mile on the left. Will update during the week. You just don’t want to miss this meeting.

UPDATE: We e went directly into the problem of paying a fee for our dogs and not for cats. I had ask for us to pay for it until we can get them to give us credit. They want us to use a dog park. I had already gave my feelings about a dog park to Vince. My dogs will not use it. Dogs are funny they take control and feel it’s their terrory. Plus we had dogs that died from Parva.

There are people out there that do not take their dogs to vets for shots and etc. I’m sure we have a few that don’t have dog license. Many of us feel we have lived in here from 10 to 42 years and never had to pay for our pets.

Plus the new lease is not ready nor the new rules, they have to pass out the rules first by law and then have you sign the new lease. So we shouldn’t have to pay that fee yet. If you read the law 3733.11 3c where it reads THE RULES SHALL NOT BE UNREASONABLE, ARBITRARY, OR CAPRICIOUS. Everyone feels we pay enough lot rent we are one of the highest paying communities now. We can on and on until next month when I had already asked Vince to come to our next meeting. We need to move on.

I talked about the parade for next weekend it’s called Celebration in the Park on the 8th of September starting at 9AM to 6PM The parade will start at 9 at the Library and march down to the Liberty Administration Building there will be CAR and Motorcycle show, FOOD CONCESSIONS CRAFTERS USED BOOK SALE GAMES FOR CHILDREN. THE LIBERTY TWP. WATCH WILL HAVE A TABLE WITH HAND OUTS IN THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING. If anyone can help please let me know. Let’s stand up and show Liberty of our turn out to help. With me being Vice President of the Liberty Twp. Block Watch. I can always use help.

BY THE WAY VINCE NASKA WILL BE AT OUR NEXT MEETING!!!!!!!!!!

First there was Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

then there was Where in the World is Matt Lauer

Now it is Where in the World is MABEL?????

We have all heard or read about the family dog stolen from the family van of vacationers passing through our community and stopping to eat at Bob Evans. Please be on the lookout for this family pet which is 2 years of age, brindle and white in color, and weighs approximately 50 pounds. Mabel is micro-chipped.

Anyone who has spotted a dog resembling Mabel is asked to call the Liberty Police Department at 330-759-1511 or Paul and Brook Jillings at 208-407-4479.

Why anyone would steal someone’s pet like this is beyond understanding. If you see her, please call. If you have her please bring her back-no questions asked.

There is now have a “forms” page that persons can file reports or if you are going out of town and want us to check on your residence just fill out the security check form and send it, that’s it…. Also there is an activity page that gives the residents a daily update of incidents and arrests from the police department. Check out the “stats” page that shows the activity over the past 4 years for the department. Look over the “links” page very carefully. These will link you to pertinent sites that will inform the community about subjects from identity theft to sex offenders who reside in the township. Have children, teenagers??? You want to know this information. More is planned in the coming months. All of the above is the result of a great deal of work and I venture to say, if there is another Police department in our area that is providing this service, I would like to know who they are. Residents of other communities wish they had this info available.

Had a bad day or maybe two this week? Yes, we all have them. As we go through our hurried and sometimes difficult days, please stop and think of the following:
From Feb. 4 to April 24, 2012; 59 Americans died in Afghanistan. Quietly giving all for us.Have an extra prayer??? Maybe those days were not so bad after all.

People, students, businesses, organizations, schools–all these and many more are parts of a community BUT it is the EVENTS that bring all of these together and give us memories and pride . The one I am about to tell you about is fairly new but one of the most important, impressive and meaningful of all those every year.
Here is the who, what, etc. Please plan to participate.
LIBERTY TOWNSHIP THIRD ANNUAL
CELEBRATION IN THE PARK
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2012, Admission FREE
PARADE AT 9 AM CELEBRATION 9 TO 5 PM
(Line up at Old School Property/Library — RTE 304– End at Administration Complex)
***Celebration is held at Liberty Center Park not Churchill Park
Liberty High School Band, Cheerleaders, Football Team. Politicians, Clowns. There will be a Car & Motorcycle Show, live music provided by The Juke Hounds, Crafters and Vendors, Food Vendors, a Children’s Area with Bounce Houses and games. There will be tables for organizations and businesses. In the Administration Building, the Liberty Historical Society will have an educational display showing early township highlights, mine locations, World War I and WWII artifacts. The Historical Society will also have a Book Sale. A wide array of baskets to auction. The two previous Celebrations were successes. We did endure a storm last year. If the weather permits, this year should be the best ever.
The Celebration is managed by a committee of your friends and neighbors who work very hard to enhance our community and our lifestyle. It is sponsored by The Liberty Historical Society, The Township Trustees, Windsor House, Liberty Arms, Walmart, Great Clips, and the First Assembly of God Church.
WHAT CAN YOU DO???? Plenty, we need you, Here are some things:
1. If you would like a table or want to walk in the Parade as a group, please call Grimmett at 330-759-7858.
2. Check out the many baskets there will be to bid on of every design and content.
3. Please purchase an ad in the Celebration Program which will be available at the event. If you purchased one last year, please renew it and if you did not, please consider getting one this year. All proceeds from the Program go directly to Liberty Community Center. This is a separate account maintained to provide for a future Community Center. A Committee is working very hard to accumulate enough money to get a small building built so that other private and government money can be sought. Grants, etc. are not available unless “bricks and mortar” are already attained. Liberty is one of the few local communities without a Community or Senior Citizen Center. Your ad purchase would add not only money but support. Ads are as follows:
Quarter Page $25, Half Page $40, Full Page $75, Inside Cover $150, Back Page $200. Group or Single Name (Personal Ads) $5. In Memory Of $5, Friends of Liberty Ads $5. Please have all ads print ready. Attached please find an order form for ads. If you have any questions or problems with ordering, please call me at 330-759-3231 or Carol at 330-539-6591.
4. Most important of all, please attend, participate and support this event and this effort. You can make a difference. Lets come together and enjoy our community and the end of summer.
