Meeting for December

November 28, 2012

Our meeting for December will be canceled, due to several people are sick including myself, plus everyone is so busy with the holiday’s . The biggest thing that is happening is the sewer plant is now tied into the sewer system at the road. They still have a few things in the sewer plant to finish. I know we will still monitor the neighborhood watch.  I wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Years if I don’t see you before that. thx Jim

1. Make sure heat tapes are working, plugged in, and cover your water meter. Insulate water lines with foam pipe insulation. (You can buy it at Handyman Hardware very cheap) Place fiberglass insulation around water meter and over crock.

2. On days or nights when the temperature outside or wind chill is 15 degrees or less, LET YOUR FAUCETS DRIP INSIDE YOUR HOME. ( running water doesn’t freeze.)

3. Check your skirting weekly . Tight skirting will prevent wind from getting under your home and freezing pipes your pipes.

4. Prepare your windows with plastic.

5. If you have Jealousy (roll out)windows, use small screws outside to keep them tight.

6. Oil all outside locks to keep them from freezing.

7. Check your doors for drafts, install weather-stripping if needed.

8. Check snow shovels, make sure screws and rivets are tight.

9. Keep all sidewalks, steps, and porches free of snow, and salted.

10. Shovel on street next to sidewalk, so that the plow can see how far over to plow. If you see the plow in the park, PLEASE move your car, and tell your neighbors, so he can plow better, and not plow you in. If you don’t do this, don’t blame the plow driver, as he can’t plow over your car.

11. Park as close to the sidewalk as possible. DO NOT park out in the street, or with the back of your car sticking out in the street, Emergency vehicles have to get through.

12. Check with utility companies for  possible budget, or heap plans available.

We of Peoples Voice Inc.are only here and organized, to help the residents of Vintage Village. We sincerely hope these tips will help you get through the winter with as few as possible problems.

The Little Leopards

November 7, 2012

The Liberty Little Leopards celebrates another successful season. You have heard me talk about this organization before and I hope you do not mind if I tell you about them again. Being as active as I have been here in our community, I have had many occasions to interact with this organization and the parents and friends of it. we are very fortunate to have them. You will not find a more devoted group of people who give unselfishly of their time and money for the youth of our community. They not only provide months of clean, character building activity for so many of our young boys and girls BUT I have watched and listened to the coaches and advisors plant and nature the seeds of hard work, education and self respect in these young people at an age so ripe to take the wrong track. They may make their practices and games fun but they do not make life easy for their charges. I thank them for all they do and I am thankful that we have them here. Please see below the photos for the following:

November Meeting 11/03/2012

November 4, 2012

Our meeting was hosted by Mary Peltz at her home. We had good coffee and some good chatter from a few good jokers. Mary gave the minutes from our last meeting at the church, and Elsa gave the treasure’s report, we need to raise money, any suggestions?  The south side of Liberty are having drug problems as we are, the chief of police recommends that we take down licence plates or even take video’s of them. Then turn them in to the police. He said; we all need to get involved and share information. If you go on and on the right side you will see an information about Crimedar just click on it and check it out it’s a google map you would have to use the arrows and go north on route 193 to Vintage Village to see what is happening in here. I just want to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving and I hope to see you at our next meeting the first Saturday in December. Our members are still working our neighborhood watch. I have noticed that Larry Truby’s home 33 Louise a/c as been stolen, as anyone seen anything please help.
