Mobile Home vs regular home

July 9, 2016 by

Is there a difference between a mobile home water heater and a regular water heater?

*NOTE: For insurance reasons we can no longer install water heaters in manufactured or mobile homes.

Yes. Mobile homes, also known as manufactured homes, are required to comply with the rules laid down by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Mobile homes are plumbed for specific water heaters and they can be quite complicated to replace. Consequently the cost of a mobile home water heater is significantly more.

Mobile home water heaters are different than regular water heaters in three main ways:

  • Mobile home water heaters have interchangeable gas and propane orifices so that the water heater can be converted from natural gas to propane gas operation. This is the main reason for the increased cost.
  • Mobile home water heaters have the cold water inlet connection on the side and the hot water outlet connection on top. Residential water heaters have all connections on the top of the tank.
  • A mobile home heater comes with a securing strap kit

Can I install a regular water heater in my mobile home?

No. Mobile home water heaters will have a H.U.D. safety approval. Anything else used for a mobile home is against the law, will void the manufacturer’s warranty, and will nullify your insurance coverage. Look for a replacement water heater that is made specifically for mobile homes.

According to HUD’s Homeowners’ Center all manufactured homes must have water heaters with a non-adjustable temperature and a pressure-relief valve, The water heater installed must comply with the local building codes of the state in which it is located and must be owned by the homeowner, as rental water heaters are not accepted. Standard water heaters are generally not HUD-approved because of the square intake vent at the base, which is not completely sealed.

The Roads are Bad

February 24, 2016 by

As we all know on how bad our roads are I feel every road has those things they call POT HOLES! The last several years they say yes we will fix these POT HOLES. What do they do they fill a couple POT HOLES, some cold patch here and there. Do they know when water seeps down under the cold patch what happens. It freeze’s then that expands and just push up the cold patch.

What they really need to do is grind up the black top and re-do all the roads to fix our community right! I just went had a front end alignment my steering shaking the steering wheel, I know I didn’t want to ruin my tires so we had the tie rods replaced and they  re-align my Trail Blazer.

Now I drive very slow and take these creators very slow. They are by law to make the roads fit to travel without worry of hurting your cars. Let’s see what they do with all of their money they making. They should know to make money they need to speed some. I know many communities you ride through are not as bad as this community.

2015 in review

January 5, 2016 by

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,300 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 22 trips to carry that many people.

Letter from Girard Courts

December 14, 2015 by

If you have gotten a letter from the courts, for a summons to appear in court. This is being done for WNND to be able to get the Titles for these homes. Now if you have already paid for your home and got one of these letters, then you need to call this attorney that has issued this summons. Because if you are paid in full for your home they have 30 days to give you the titles. Then you can call the Auditors office and register a complaint. I hope this answer your questions about this.
